Meizhou TV was founded in 1988. In August 2001, it merged with the cable radio stations TV Station of Meizhou City, which is called Meizhou TV Station. In 2006, it was merged with Meizhou People's Broadcasting Station, which was jointly named as radio and TV of Meizhou City. There are now two sets of TV programs, namely, Integrated Channel for Current Affairs (Meizhou-1) and Hakka Public Channel (Meizhou-2).
