Xinjiang TV Logo Xinjiang Television (XJTV) (simplified Chinese: 新疆电视台; traditional Chinese: 新疆電視台; pinyin: Xīnjiāng Diànshìtái; Uyghur: شىنجاڭ تېلېۋىزىيە ئىستانسى‎; Kazakh: شينجياڭ تەلەۆيزيا) is a local television network station in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, China. It is the major television station in Xinjiang, and is located in the capital Ürümqi. It was founded and started to broadcast on October 1, 1970. XJTV currently broadcasts in Mandarin, Uyghur, Kazakh, Mongolian, and Kyrgyz languages. Xinjiang Satellite TV began broadcasting on October 1, 1970. July 1, 1986, Xinjiang TV Station Uighur language, Chinese program official satellite transmission, became the first satellite broadcast in the country's provincial television station. On August 1, 1993, the program of Uighur language, Chinese language and Kazakh language was broadcast for 16 hours every day. On August 28, 1997, Xinjiang TV Station realized the satellite broadcasting of the satellite TV programs of Uighur language, Chinese language and Kazak language by renting the Asia-Pacific IA satellite and adopting the digital compression technology.
