Hainan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture is an autonomous prefecture under the jurisdiction of Qinghai Province, with a total area of 46,000 square kilometers. It has jurisdiction over Gonghe, Guide, Guinan, Tongde, Xinghai and Longyang Gorge Running Committee. There are 41 townships and autonomous prefecture governments in Republic County. Hainan is located in the south of the famous Qinghai Lake, so Hainan is the eastern gateway to the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, known as the "sea-Tibet thoroughfare."
