Liaoning Metropolitan Channel, whose predecessor was Liaoning Economic Television, was established on January 1, 1990. On January 1, 1993, it was renamed Liaoning Northern Television Station. On August 1, 1998, when Liaoning Northern Television Station merged with Liaoning Television Station, the former Liaoning Northern Television Station changed its name to Liaoning Television Station LNTV-2 (North Channel), Liaoning Television Station LNTV-2 (Economic Channel) on January 1, 1999, and Liaoning Television Station LNTV-2 (Economic Life Channel) on January 1, 2002. January 8 was changed to Integrated Channel and January 1, 2006 to Urban Channel.
